Well, what a journey this has been!! The explanation for the iLE@RN Model was impressive. I know I remember the Letter "e" for sure - and it is not ELECTRONIC, as I believed it would be. I now know that iLearn model began in 2009 - where was I? Paper and pencil perhaps!! The framework set up has lots of "E" words and all pertinent to our 21st century teacher in all codes - Engaging (who wouldn't want to be!) Encompassing (we can include all!) Excitement (try on a Monday!) Environment (work with what you have!!) Embracing (a hard job to include!) Enthusiasm (we all start with it!) Evolving (the learning process)Excitement (isn't it how it should be learning together!) EXCELLENCE! -Don't we all strive for this every day!
Bloom's Taxonomy - been around for a long, long time. And now we have the revamped version to help us mere mortals to use what is AVAILABLE TO US. Isn't that the point? We always knew that some children remember things by rote and other children can create and design from that first remembering! I've gone from Remembering to the Creating - the two ends of the spectrum!! I always worry about the children in the middle, but with Bloom's Taxonomy there is a scope for ALL! The digitally remastered in modern language allows us mere mortal teachers to focus on the technology that HELPS us to DO THE JOB IN THE 21ST CENTURY!! I've actually put this model in the front of my programme.
Yes, in answer to the question do I find the Bloom's Taxonomy Digitally (remastered in my words) it works. I now know what the words mean - having done the course and know where it fits in!! I always followed the leading VERBS to programme and now I have the technological parallels (all helpful)
Flikr could be incorporated in Remembering what has been learnt to Creating the degree of expertise as you would expect. Second Life, so impressed with this!! For those who have never been anywhere!! You VIRTUALLY can go anywhere and involve yourself in the virtual reality - see THE WORLD, EXPLORE, ETC (thought of 2 "E" words by myself) Mindmapping - do it all the time but now have a new focus to explore and keep the class 'enhanced'
My journey over Semester Two has been interesting!! I've been kept on task by my colleagues on staff - Oh, so supportive, etc, etc. My advice to all is do this course with a grade partner, friend, colleague, etc so that you can bounce off each other and support. We are all in the one boat and need to help, care and share as is the "catholic ethos".
In conclusion, I have learnt that we are NOW teaching a new generation of children who have the RIGHT to learn and experience THE BEST from the teachers and it is our role to include all the modern technologies in our everyday life as it is in their own families.
Children can blog, wiki etc to ENHANCE their learning, EMBRACE their ENVIRONMENT and ENHANCE their learning!! All good in the scheme of things!!! There are no boundaries anymore, no walls as such. The world is our oyster, so to speak. We have local, national and now international avenues to learn. Our role as a teacher is to be discriminative and discerning as well as, being educationally aware of the websites available and being age related to our class. We also need to educate our pupils and PARENTS to be aware of the RESPONSIBILITY we have and SHARE to educate the children the best way we can NOW AND IN THE FUTURE.

Module 10
I have heard of wikis and, of course, we click this to support our Web 2.0 learners semester 2. To me wikis are a valuable tool for individuals to learn together on familiar topics. The group can edit, save and amend information colloboratively. Nings on the other hand, are used more for community purposes. Schools have nings set up.
I visited the Bookleads wiki and found it so interesting. I spent some time viewing the 50ways to tell a story. A great way to share ideas on the same topics with other professionals. I particularly enjoyed seeing The Spotlight on Authors. Here authors such as J.K. Rowling and Judy Blume took my attention. You can explore their biography, their list of books and some valuable comments from other teachers re - reading levels for the children.
Classroom 2.0 also appealed to me and yet another way of social networking on social media. Sue Water has some invaluable information on many Web 2.0 beginners. It was pleasing to me that I actually recognised some of the names, eg prezi, glogster, etc. feel happy about that and yet know I have a long way to go.
To answer the question "How can Web 2.0 assist in learning outcomes for all students?"
In the 21st Century teachers are fully aware that children learn by talking and listening, reading and writing and I would add one more i.e., Children also learn by doing. Web 2.0 is all about "doing" Children no longer learn as passive participants - they need to become involved in their own learning by creating, particpating, communicating and collaborating information with other children, be it with their own class member, across the grade or across the globe.
With the aid of Google Docs, Prezi (zooms in and out to highlight features of importance) delicious.com,(can assist and save time for teachersby bookmarking) Scootle,(already used in my class for guided reading and more to come) Bubbl.us and Glogster (makes learning creative)Flickr (a safe way of storing and organising photos, vidoes. children have an array of proven tools to satisfy their needs. I believe these sites to be most beneficial to primary aged children and I would feel comfortable using these sites.
The sites explored in Web 2.0 can provide opportunities for the children to be guided wisely so that work presentation is brought into the 21st century. Students can work, share and collaborate on projects in the classroom, without feeling threatened. By presenting these sites to the children - time is saved!! Children can get on with digital storytelling. Teachers have a responsibility to educate their children for the future. Times have changed and so to has the classroom. Teachers now need to be a step ahead.

Module 9
Yeh! Nearly there. Would recommend doing this course in semester 1, so that you can use all these new enterprises - and no reports!!! Scootle a great resource for teachers and one used by myself and the whole school (glad to say) thanks to our ICT teacher. All teachers and children have own log in and in my class I use for guided reading, knowing that the children are using a user friendly AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM BASED SITE. An added bonus is that you can add your own learning paths for the children to access from home and school. The site is secure and items can be shared.
Social networking sites. Interesting! Have just been to a cyber bullying talk. Be very careful - that would be my advice. No-one seemed to be aware that children need to be 13 years of age to join facebook. I have facebook use only when family are overseas and interact with in-laws who live overseas.
Second Life - WOW! Great for school used in the right way! Art, Geography, History, etc. What a great way to explore culture now and then. To experience the arts in a museum across the hemisphere. No air fares, baggage check, etc. A thought, a child with autisim - they could be on the computer and experience life without threat. You can be physically imersed in a world from another era. It is not possible, yet practical. You can walk in someone's shoes. Could I investigate and see if I could put our children on "The First Fleet" - the answer is they would love it. University would go mad with tutorials and quizz time, etc.
Twitter is that for the celebrities - they always seem to be on it!! Perhaps for school a short 140 characters on an opinion to text!! Share the network with a group. Need to investigate, but would be nervous. Notice on TV they have Twitter comments on the bottom of screen like headlines news.
Linked in - to me for work professionals (maybe wrong!) like yellow pages. Want something ask a friend in the group and all the network can share, knowledge, opportunities etc. As teachers, if you don't want to recreate the wheel in a 24 hour period - what a great idea!!
